Moby became interested in the history of cults after moving to the “Ground Zero of cults“… Los Angeles. The 2012 prediction that the world would end, based on the Mayans calendar never happened. That inspired Moby to create with his photographs, the narrative of his show Innocence, where the apocalypse has happened. He invented this post apocalyptic cult, which has arisen in the week of the apocalypse. The members of this cult dress up in robes in animal masks, and are informed by a sense of shame. “They look at human history and have a terrible sense of shame over it.“
